This past week the Woodmore High School Choir traveled to New York City where members saw musicals, sights, and created long lasting memories. The choir visited the Rockefeller Plaza along with Little Italy, ChinaTown, and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum- Ground Zero. At the Radio City Music Hall members of the choir were shown backstage behind the scenes of how operations and mechanics work for the concert hall, a Rockette also talked to choir members about what it takes to perform at that level. Moving to Broadway, the musicals performed that the choir saw were “Hades Town ” written by Anais Mitchell, “Six” was written by Lucy Moss and Tobey Marlow. Being a member of the Choir myself, I enjoyed the trip, the musical performances were very good and I would definitely go again. Food and traditions from all different types of cultures and backgrounds is a great experience to have when you go to a place with cultures so vast and diverse. There are many people so it’s a busy place where everyone is always on the go, this is much different than small towns like Elmore or Woodville. The thick smoggy air lays on you like a blanket and I was very happy to breathe my fresh Ohio air. Overall this is a great experience where you will make lasting memories.
