Woodmore’s Advanced Placement biology class took a field trip to Kelly’s Island on May 19th. Myself included. We saw the island’s glacial grooves and explored local beaches. We looked at different kinds of rocks and searched for fossils. There were trails to hike, and we learned on the way. Some students, including Keegan Strong, Gage Sliwinski, and Mason Faunce, all dipped in the fresh Lake Erie water to explore further. We took a look at native plants and creatures. We then headed to the abandoned quarry and took an hour to explore. The class and I then went to lunch and ate pizza. After a fun day on the island, we wrapped it up and headed home.
