As the spring season has progressed these past few weeks, the warmer it gets, the better it is for fishing. Fishing season is almost here.
Every year from the beginning of May to the end of May, the white bass run is at its peak. When the water starts to warm up, the white bass travel through the rivers and into Lake Erie. Since the waters have been so high in early springtime, it allows more white bass to travel to the Lake.
Since the White Bass run is near you may be asking, “What lures or baits will work best to catch the White bass?”. Spinners, jigs, soft plastics, and small crankbaits work best for white bass.
The biggest white bass ever caught is 6.8 pounds. White bass range from weighing from 1 to 3 pounds. That shows how massive the world record fish actually is.
I asked Calvin Lipstraw some questions about fishing. I asked how he felt about the fishing season coming up, and he said, “I am super pumped up and excited, I can’t wait to go fishing in Wyatt’s pond”. I then asked what his favorite lures to use were, and he replied with “ I like the crankbait, whopper plopper, and rooster tails”. I asked him what his favorite fish to catch was. “ I really like to catch largemouth and smallmouth bass”.
