On February 10, 2025, the 6th graders were dropped off at Woodmore Elementary School, unloaded their bags from their parents’ cars, and got on the bus to head to Camp Michindoh. Around 9 a.m., some staff members, camp counselors, and sixth-grade students got on the bus and headed to Hillsdale, Michigan. Once everyone arrived, everyone met the staff, and the teachers assigned the kids to their cabin leaders and told them what cabin they would be living in. The kids and cabin leaders participated in different activities daily, such as tye-dyeing shirts, learning outdoor skills, seeing reptiles, and simulating how Michigan was during the 1830s.
A day at camp was packed full of activities. First, the students woke up around 7 a.m. and met up at the flagpole. They then raised the flag and headed to breakfast. After breakfast, they headed off to their first classes of the day. The class lasted until it was time for lunch. All the students met up in the cafeteria to eat. Afterward, they headed to their last two classes of the day. After the classes, they all met up in the gym to socialize and play games. Now, it was time for dinner, then an afternoon activity.
On the final day of camp, the kids ate breakfast and packed up their luggage to head back to Woodville. Their parents greeted them as they got off the bus and headed home.
