It’s an exciting time of year as the holidays are upon us. This time of year is very busy and filled with lots of fun activities and being with loved ones, as well as having Thanksgiving break and Christmas break. However, as we near the end of the first semester, it is important to remember to not let your grades suffer. It is easy this time of the year to be checked out on your school work as we are all itching for the holiday breaks. On top of your normal everyday school work, students will also have to prepare to study for exams at the end of the 2nd quarter. The turn around will come sooner than you think. Once we come back from the Christmas break, there is only 2 weeks until the end of the first semester. It’s easy to get caught up with everything happening at the end of the year.
For the first quarter this year, Woodmore students exceeded expectations. During lunches the first week after the first quarter, Mrs. Coil shared with the students the percentages of C’s and D’s among each class. Seniors, as I would hope, had the lowest percentage of C’s and D’s. Candy was given to each student for a job well done on contributing to their grades academic achievement.
This was shocking to a lot of students as in previous years, this may have been a struggle at the beginning of the year. This is great progress for the students here at Woodmore, and something we should be proud of and want to continue throughout the 4 quarters. As I have said before, I know this time of year can be tough to want to be engaged in classroom activities and to do your homework outside of class. We want to represent Woodmore as a school that excels academically. Please keep on top of your work and make sure you are turning in assignments on time and also be sure to be properly preparing for each exam you will have at the end of the quarter. If you need help, you can always ask your teachers and Mr. Clair is always available to help and is a great resource as well. Keep up the good work Wildcats!
