Each school has its traditions, and Woodmore is no exception. The senior year can be bittersweet for students as they reflect on the friendships they’ve built. Kora Perkins, the senior Student Council President, notes, “Senior year is special because we get to cherish these moments. We take every opportunity to enjoy the little things. Senior Sunrise is my personal favorite.”
The senior class has many cherished traditions, including “Senior Night” and the “Junior vs. Senior Prank Wars,” which are favorites among athletes. Another popular tradition is “Senior Sunrise,” where the entire senior class gathers on the school’s football field early in the morning to watch the sunrise together. This event often includes breakfast and catered donuts.
Other memorable traditions, such as the “Senior Spring Picnic,” “Christmas and Thanksgiving Lunch,” and “Senior Skip Day,” take place throughout the school year. These events aim to make the final semester of high school special and fun for the seniors before they head off to college. It’s important to show them that they are loved and will be missed by their peers and underclassmen, helping to create wonderful memories that they can cherish.
