The Contemporary World Issues class at Woodmore High School is kicking off a small but impactful project aimed at making a difference in our community. From October 7th to October 18th, we will be collecting donations for local food pantries in Elmore and Woodville. Students can drop off non-perishable items, like canned goods, in their class advisor’s room. For every item donated, you’ll receive one entry into our raffle drawing. The raffle winner will receive a basket filled with fun items, and the winner will be announced on October 21st. Additionally, the class that donates the most items will enjoy a special pajama day. Remember, every donation counts no matter how small.
Some may wonder how a local canned food drive can make a real difference. Many of us take for granted the simple act of sharing a meal every night. By donating a meal, we can support families who are less fortunate. This initiative not only strengthens our community bonds but also fosters connections with new people united by a common goal. Additionally, it installs values of compassion and generosity, inspiring students to develop a lifelong commitment to giving back. Let’s come together to support our community!
