2024 National Championship
On January 8th Michigan faced Washington in the 2024 National Championship, Michigan came out on top 34-13. This was Michigans’s 10th National Championship of all time and the 1st in the Harbaugh era. There is speculation that he could be leaving Michigan, as there is mutual interest from multiple NFL teams. Michigan had a historic season this year while going undefeated for the first time since 1997; the last time they won the national championship, as well as the last time they beat Ohio State three years in a row.
Michigan has had one of the most dominant seasons we’ve seen in recent years. They averaged 35.87 points per game and scored 538 points in total, while their opponents averaged 10.40 points per game and 156 points in total. They completely dominated the BIG 10 by knocking off their biggest competition and rival Ohio State University. Washington is moving to the BIG 10 next year along with UCLA, USC, and Oregon. With the competition increasing it would be uber impressive if Michigan can go undefeated in BIG 10 once again. Michigan is also losing 44 seniors and some non-seniors who might be leaving early like starting quarterback J.J McCarthy. He has not made a decision yet but his draft stock has never been higher. With an amazing year from the Wolverines, they are looking to go back-to-back for the first time since 1904.
