Welcome to the third week of Dinosaur of the week! This week’s dino is the Giganotosaurus which is similar to the T.Rex but much bigger. A Giganotosaurus could grow to be forty-five feet long and could roughly weigh around fifteen tons (30,000 pounds), this absolute beast of a creature was one of the largest meat eating dinosaurs to ever walk the earth. This dinosaur was not larger than the Spinosaurus, and unlike the T.Rex which had two fingers on each hand the Giganotosaurus had three. The appetite this dinosaur had was very large. They ate Argentinosaurus which weighed up to 220,000 pounds and stretched to one hundred and thirty feet! Giganotosaurus walked this planet ninety nine to ninety five million years ago. Make sure to check back for next week’s Dinosaur of the Week!

I have always felt that the Giganotosaurus never got as much credit as the T-Rex has. Disappointing. Thank you for the insight, Mr. Watson; glad to see you give Giganotosaurus a shout out.
