The 2028 Summer Olympics are set to host a new sport in Los Angeles, California. The home country gets to choose an optional sport to add, and the U.S. chose Flag Football. On May 20, the NFL Owners approved NFL players participating in the 2028 Olympics. It was a landslide vote by all 32 owners in favor of players participating in the Olympics. The U.S. is the major favorite to win the flag football Olympics, but I wouldn’t count out other countries. The field dimensions are 70×25 with 10 end zones. Play starts at the team’s five-yard line with the center snapping the ball back to the quarterback, who either passes the ball forward to try and find a receiver, or hands off to a running back. There will be 5 men on offense and 5 on defense. Many countries might not participate due to a lack of football knowledge and experience. Also, they may be threatened by the U.S, knowing there is no point in entering because they won’t get a medal.
If I had to build a starting lineup for the United States, this is how it would go.
Offense :
QB – Lamar Jackson
RB – Jahmyr Gibbs
WR – Tyreek Hill
WR – Ja’Marr Chase
C – Brock Bowers
This Offense will be tough to stop. There will be studs across the field, being a very fast and quick lineup.
Defense :
Rusher – Micah Parsons
CB – Pat Surtain II
CB – Jaylon Johnson
CB – Trent McDuffie
CB – Travis Hunter
This Defense will make lockdown very difficult for the quarterback. With Parsons rushing, the Offense is in for a rough time.
