This Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Woodmore varsity baseball team will play the Huron Varsity Tigers. This will be the first game of the playoffs, and they have a chance to get the sectional title this year. And if they beat Huron, then they play Evergreen and someone else to get the next title.
The seniors this year are Trace Murphy, Harry LaMuyon, Parker Hahn, and Nick Horvath. They have been working very hard this year to lead the baseball team to many victories. And they have been doing a pretty good job since we are 15-11 on the season.
I asked Harry LaMuyon about his favorite memories from the baseball season and what we can do to prepare for tournament games. He said, “To prepare for the playoffs, we need to practice hitting. My favorite memory was coming back from the Lakota game when we were down seven runs. We fought hard and didn’t give up throughout the whole game.”
I also asked Trace Murphy what his favorite memory was from baseball season, and what we can do to get ready for the playoffs. “My favorite memory was hitting a walk-off against New Reigel. To prepare for the playoffs, we can work hard and have long practices to get better. We also need to focus on fixing our mistakes.”
Lastly, I asked Parker Hahn and Nick Horvath the same questions, and they said,” Our favorite Memory from baseball was having good teammates and having a lot of fun. To prepare for the playoffs, we need to focus on the little things when we can.”
The Woodmore Wildcats work hard to win their ball games. So, make sure that you return the favor and show up to the next couple of games and support them. Go wildcats!
