At Woodmore High School, we are lucky to have a couple of therapy dogs that help make school more fun and relaxing. These dogs stay in certain classrooms with teachers during the day. Griff is Mrs. Ralston’s therapy dog, and Daisy is in Mrs. Peace’s therapy dog. They are both very sweet and loved by many students and teachers.
Griff is one of the most popular dogs at school. He is super friendly and loves attention from everyone. Griff is very food-driven, which means he gets really excited when he knows there are treats around. He likes to visit other teachers like Mr. Fannin, Mrs. Peace, and Mrs. Kigar because they usually have treats for him. Griff is known for being a little needy, he always wants to be pet and receive love from people. He often sits in the hallway just waiting for someone to walk by and give him a treat. Mrs. Ralston said, “Griff is hyper-aware, he knows everything that’s going on.” Since Griff is a herding dog, he likes to keep an eye on people. He sees the students like his flock, and it’s his job to watch over them. Griff is also very smart and understands a lot more than you might think.
Daisy is another amazing dog at Woodmore. She is especially popular with the art students. Daisy is very playful and full of energy. She also loves treats, but she isn’t as focused as Griff. Instead, she likes to solve puzzles and show off what she can do. She’s always happy to give kisses to people and make them smile. Daisy loves running back and forth between the two art rooms so she can visit all her friends. She enjoys being around people and makes friends wherever she goes.
Lastly, Griff and Daisy are not just therapy dogs, they are part of the Woodmore family. They help students feel calmer, happier, and more comfortable during the school day. Having them at school makes a big difference for a lot of people. Whether you’re having a bad day or just want to say hi, spending time with Griff or Daisy can really brighten your mood. Everyone at Woodmore is lucky to have these two amazing dogs around.
