The 2025 Woodmont Baseball is almost over, with only one week left before the playoffs, and here is a quick recap of the last two weeks.
On April 22nd, the Wildcats were home against New Riegel. Clavin Lipsraw was on the mound, going five innings, only letting up one run. Keil Armroth closed the game, not letting New Riegel score any more runs. In the bottom of the seventh, the game was tied 1-1, and Calvin Lipstraw hit a double and Nick Horvath Bunted for a hit to get Calvin on third. Trace Murphy hit a line drive single for a walk-off base hit. The final score was 2-1 with another Wildcat league win.
On April 23rd, the Wildcats were home again against Lakota with Wes Kayser starting on the mound. Letting up 1 run in 1 inning. Blane Overmyer pitched for four innings, giving up 7 runs. The Wildcats were down 3-8 in the bottom of the sixth and theory scored 6 runs in an inning. Miceal Seeger closed the game, letting up no run,s making the final score 9-8 with another win for the Wildcats.
On April 28th, the Wildcats were home again against Old Fort with Trace Murphy starting on the mound, letting up 3 runs in five innings, and Keil Armroth closing the game, letting up no runs in two innings. The Wildcats scored five runs in the first two innings, making the final score 5-3. Bringing home another Wildcat win.
On April 29th, the Wildcats are on the road against Oak Harbor. Parker Hahn started on the mound, letting up 6 runs in three innings. Blane Overmyer pitched for two innings, letting up 2 runs. West Kayser closed the game, letting up 7 runs in one inning. The Wildcats only scored three runs, making the final score 3-15 with a rough loss.
On April 30th, the Wildcats were on the road again against St. Joseph CC. Calvin Lipstraw started on the mound, letting up zero runs in five innings; he also had eleven strikeouts. The Wildcats scored 13 runs in five innings, making the final score 13-0. The Wildcats got another league win.
On May 2nd, the Wildcats were home for their senior night against St. Mary’s CC. The seniors on their team are Parker Hahn, Nick Horvath, Harry Lamuon, and Trace Murphy. Trace Murphy started on the mound, letting up one run in 5 innings. Keil Armroth closed the game, letting up zero runs in two innings. The Wildcats scored three runs in the first inning, which was the only time they scored, making the final score 3-1. The Wildcats had another league win. The Woodmore baseball team’s record is 14-6, with only a week and a half left of the season before playoffs.
