In Harris, OH, there is a Wiffle ball league on the rise that starts on June 5th. Connor Barr, a Freshman at Woodmore High School, is starting up a Wiffle Ball League in his backyard. The league started last year, but didn’t have many teams. But this year, many teams are joining the league. All teams are buying Jerseys and team banners to represent their team.
There are 9 teams representing the league, with 3 players on each team. For each team, you can have 2 baseball players and 1 non-baseball player. There will be 3 tournaments, and each team will play at least six games. For the bat the league uses the standard yellow bat and normal wiffle ball with holes on one side. The Captain of the Miller Lumberjacks, Parker Boss, says,” I think it will be fun this summer, it was fun during preseason, so it should be done for the regular season too.” Parker Boss is a freshman at Woodmore High School.
Junior Carson Slates is the captain of The Belt Boys. he says, “I think it will be fun with everyone and competitive.”
Freshman Collin Perkins, captain of the Triple G, took a rather boastful approach to his question. He said, “My team will win every game.”
Sophomore Griffin Thomas, captain of TMB, responded, “I think we have a chance of being an excellent team, but we have a lot of work to do.”
Lastly, Freshman Caden Hilt, the captain of the Make Me Mantaties, says, “I think that it will go well, especially since it’s a first-year thing and how popular it already is. I hope to see people use their talents with this league.”
