They have played the Dodgers, Padres, and Diamondbacks, who are all very talented teams, multiple times. The Cubs are the best-hitting team in the MLB, scoring 10 runs eight times. The Cubs are first in runs, batting average, and on-base percentage, and second in slugging. The Cubs are having pitching problems, such as having a weak bullpen and losing ace Justin Steele to a season-ending Tommy John surgery.

San Diego is tied with the Mets for the best record (17-8), with a 12-1 record at home. The team is first in batting average at .270 and second in OBP at .341. Fernando Tatis has 8 HR and 17 RBI with a batting average of .344. Tatis is currently the best player statistically in the MLB.
4.) Los Angeles Dodgers
LA is the most talented team, but can they stay healthy the entire year? They have had some injuries throughout the year and haven’t gotten to play with their entire team healthy. I think that the Dodgers haven’t played their best baseball yet, and they are not batting that well. The Dodgers are the heavy favorite to go back-to-back, but can they do it?
5.) New York Yankees
Last year’s runner-up and hungry for redemption, the Yankees are better than last year, making some improvements. Despite losing Juan Soto in free agency and Gerrit Cole getting Tommy John surgery. New York added Cody Bellinger, Max Fried, and Devin Williams. I think New York will be better than last year.
