With winter ending and the weather getting a little warmer everyday, spring is coming. But spring is not the only thing that many Woodmore students are excited for; the sports that come with spring. All the student athletes are excited to get outside and dominate in the sport they love in the nice spring weather.
The sport that has the most student athletes in it is Track and Field. The Track and Field team will run in any weather and throw in any condition. Their first meet is on April 1st at Hopewell-Loudon. They’re also competing with Calvert and St.Mary CC, be there to support the track team. The seniors on the Boys Track and Field team are Drake Blausey, Brady Buhrow, Brady Thatcher, and Orian Kirk. The seniors on the Girls’ Track and Field team are Stella Strong, Kora Perkins, Lilly Runion, Daesy Hudson, Addison Overmyer, and Brook Lowry. They want to compete the best they can every meet.
Baseball is one of America’s most loved sports, and the players are ecstatic about playing their first game. Their first game is on March 29th at Northwood. Show up to support the baseball team! The seniors on the Woodmore baseball team are Parker Hahn, Harry Lamunyon, Trace Murphy, and Nick Horvath. The seniors are excited to lead the baseball team to success and push the underclassmen to greatness.
Softball is another sport in the spring that is coming up, and they are excited to get the season started. With their first game being on March 25th at Lake, be there to support the softball team. The seniors on the Woodmore softball team are Emmaleigh Lawrence, Kara Schneider, and Oliva Smith. They are excited to play their first game and prove themselves this year with their talent.
All sports in the spring in high school are coming soon, and everyone is either excited to play that sport or watch that sport. If you are not playing that sport, you should go watch a meet or a game to help support the Woodmore community and the players that you’re watching.
