First-year writer Calvin Lipstraw was awarded the February Writer of the Month. Calvin wrote 2 articles during the month of February. He wrote an outstanding article about Valentine’s Day titled Love is in the Air. Calvin was asked some questions about winning writer of the month, and he responded with “ I’m honored to win February Writer of the Month. The best thing that draws peoples to my articles is when I write about the students. My favorite article that I’ve written is the Valentine’s Day one. My favorite thing about the journalism staff is the conversations about current events.” Calvin is an intelligent young man with a bright future in journalism.
