Happy Valentine’s Day, Woodmore!
In celebration of the beauty and complexity of love, we are thrilled to announce our Valentine’s Day inspired poetry competition. This is your chance to express your feelings, thoughts, and experiences through the art of poetry. Whether it’s the joy of first love, the heartache of loss, or the warmth of friendship, we want to hear your unique voice! The Journalism program is excited to offer a short, free-writing poetry competition!
Submission Guidelines:
- Each student may submit up to two original poems.
- Poems should be no longer than 40 lines.
- All entries must be typed and submitted in a readable font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12 pt).
- Include your name, grade, and food-allergy information in an email with your poem(s).
- Email your submission to Miss Kay ([email protected])
Judging Criteria:
Entries will be judged based on creativity, emotional impact, originality, and adherence to the theme. A panel of teachers and Woodmore writers will evaluate the submissions. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and passion for poetry. We encourage everyone to participate and share their love stories through their art.
Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 2/28/25.
Winners Announcement: Winners will be announced during the morning announcements sometime during the week of 3/3/25 – 3/7/25.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries, including a sweet treat and the opportunity to have your work featured in Window to Woodmore!
For any questions or further information, please contact Miss Kay ([email protected]).
Let your words capture the essence of love! Get writing, and we look forward to your submissions!
Happy writing!
