Since the beginning of the year, Toys-For-Tots has been collecting toys from across the United States and storing them until the holiday season begins. Official toy distributions to families, organizations, and orphanages will start in November. Notable Toys-For-Tots events in 2024 include the Holiday Parade on November 16 in Downtown Toledo, the Tree Lighting on November 22 at Levis Commons, and the Toledo Walleye Bear Pickup on December 7 during the hockey game.
By the end of December 2024, a total of 25,024 toys, 1,752 books, and 5,724 stocking stuffers had been collected and distributed. According to the Marines stationed in Perrysburg, Ohio, this total was significantly higher than last year’s. A special thank you goes out to the schools and individuals who generously donated, particularly Woodmore High School, which also participated in the donation efforts. We would like to extend an extra shout-out to Staff Sergeant Rodolfo Alarcon, the 2024 Toys for Tots coordinator, his vice coordinator, Sergeant Christos Toromanides, and all the other Marines involved.
