- Joe Burrow-Quarterback-Cincinnati Bengals
The Case for Josh Allen: Josh Allen has been consistently the best quarterback in the league all season. Allen finished with 3,731 yards and threw for 28 touchdowns. His completion percentage is 63.6%. What sets Allen apart, though, is his desire to win games. He is the leader of the Bills offense and is a pivotal reason they are in the playoffs.
The Case for Lamar Jackson: Lamar Jackson is the reason why this MVP Race is so close. Any other year, Josh Allen would win unanimously but this year is insanely close between him and Lamar Jackson. Jackson finished with 4,172 threw the air and 41 passing touchdowns. Jackson’s most impressive part of his game is his rushing. He finished with 915 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. He is the best dual-threat quarterback of all time and has dominated the game ever since he was drafted. He was last year’s MVP and is looking to go back-to-back.
The Case for Saquon Barkley: Barkley had one of the best seasons of all time as a running back. In his first season on the Eagles, Barkley ran for 2,005 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. Many say that Barkley would have broken the single-season record for rushing yards if he had never been benched during Week 18. Barkley has been the best running back all year but this award will go to a quarterback.
The case for Joe Burrow: Burrow has been statistically the best quarterback in the NFL this season, however, his team’s record was not impressive. Burrow may have put up video game numbers but yet he won’t win MVP because of his team’s performance. Burrow was first in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season.
