Fortnite has been one of the most massive games in the world since 2017 when it was first released. But last year, Fortnite lost players consistently and the review of the game lately has not been good reviews with people saying that this is one of the worst times to play the game. But with the release of Fortnite Remix, it brought back the map from chapter 2 season 2 and Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, and Juice World which brought back some players but the hype died off in a week. The reason for this is because the map did not match up with the mechanics and the map was too big resulting in boring games.
The drop in players made Epicgames realize that they have to make some big changes to bring in more players. They announced that OG Fortnite is coming out on December 6. This is different from OG Fortnite in 2023 because it is permanent and the map will update monthly. The old OG Fortnite lasted only a month as a limited time mode. Every week it’s been out it gets updated with slight map changes and loot changes. This kept the game fresh and kept the attention of the Fortnite community for the whole month. The player says they should keep OG fortnite as a permanent game mode but Epic games didn’t listen and took away OG fortnite and replaced it with Chapter 5 which was one of the worst chapters according to players.
They changed the movement which caused the player to move slower and feel like you’re walking with bricks on your feet. This caused outrage in the community and it took two weeks for Epic games to change it back. They also made the graphics look gray and dark which started from the cartoony look the game had before chapter five and this made players dislike the game more. They also took out hitscan and replaced it with bullet drop which made the gunplay feel unfair and luck based. This made the community outraged that they replaced one of the most loved modes in Fortnite with one of the worst Chapters ever in Fortnite. This resulted in a huge drop in players meaning Fortnite would have to bring back OG Fortnite to get back players.
They announced OG Fortnite to come back but they changed it up from last year’s OG Fortnite. Instead of a weekly update there will be a monthly update to update the map and loot pool. They will go through all the seasons in OG Fortnite and try to replicate them as accurately as possible. This has the community hyped up about the future of Fortnite and wanting OG fortnite to come out sooner.
