Majority of our lives we have listened to the beat of a song. Even if we are singing along in the car, or listening to a song at full volume. Music is the universal language of communication through our feelings. From melodies that soothe us during difficult times to upbeat tunes that energize our workouts, music is embedded in the foundation of our daily lives. Each song from every genre has the power to make us dance, sing, cry, or just feel a connection to the lyrics.

When music is brought up in today’s society the artists brought up now are typically Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande however, yes they are making a difference in the music industry now but let’s think back to the artists who will forever be in the history books. The top five bands and artists to forever make a difference in the music industry were Elvis Presley, Micheal Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Prince, and The Beatles. The list of irreplaceable artists that jump-started music continues. Although their impact was unexplainable, they will forever be remembered because of how they made people feel. The artist’s immense dedication to their fans made people of all ages love music.
Much research has been done on this topic through various articles with explanations as to why music affects us the way it does. It also has been questioned if it is for the good or the bad. When research is done most believe that it is the way our brains are wired that allows us to connect to the lyrics on a deeper level others believe it is a trap to keep us locked up in our minds. They continue to discuss the process by which we hear music because, “These vibrations tickle the eardrum and are transmitted into an electrical signal that travels through the auditory nerve to the brain stem, where it is reassembled into something we perceive as music.” It is a monumental structure of art that creates a channel of relationships that people form with each song.
Music has created a diverse and influential impact on every generation. People continue to rely on music and it continues to carry through generations.
