On Tuesday, October 15th superstar wide receiver Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets from the Las Vegas Raiders to be reunited with Aaron Rodgers. This is a major move for the Jets after they have had an underwhelming start to the season being 2-4. After losing to the Minnesota Vikings, they fired their head coach Robert Saleh. Saleh went 20-36 in his tenure with the Jets, after their start they felt like it was necessary to move on from him. This could be the move to turn around the Jets season. Aaron Rodgers and Adams are very good when they’re together. Davante Adams has produced 7,590 receiving yards on 622 receptions, along with 69 touchdowns with Rodgers at the helm. The Rodgers-Adams combo is one of the best in NFL history. They’ve both been very successful when it comes to personal accolades. Rodgers won back to back MVPs and Adams has been first team all pro 3 times and made 6 pro bowls. The Jets also didn’t give up that much for Adams. They gave up a 2025 conditional-third round pick. It was a low risk potentially high reward situation. Could this be the move to turn around the Jets Season?
That wasn’t the only big move on Tuesday. Star wide receiver Amari Cooper was traded to the Buffalo Bills from the Cleveland Browns. This is a major move for the receiver needy team in the Bills. The Bills traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs in the off-season so they were lacking at wide receiver. The Bills have had a good start to the year being 4-2 and leading the AFC East currently. With having a top 5 quarterback in Josh Allen it’s crucial to pair him up with a good wide receiver like Cooper. This could be the move to put them in true Super Bowl contention. The Bills gave up a 2025 third round pick and a 2026 seventh round pick for Amari Cooper and a 2026 sixth round pick. So again for the Bills, it’s a low risk potentially high reward situation. These kinds of mid-season moves can turn good teams into great teams and that’s definitely what the Bills just did and it proves they’re trying to win now and aren’t okay with just making the playoffs. They want to go all the way and win their first Super Bowl.
