The September senior of the month was awarded to Alivia Smith! Unlike Woodmore’s student of the month, senior of the month is a little different. This award is given each month to a senior and is recognized in the Suburban Press, our Board of Education meeting, and the recipient of the award gets to decorate the senior of the month case until the next month. Any senior wanting to be considered for this award fills out a form with their academic achievements, school involvement, and community involvement.
Alivia Smith is involved in NHS, FCA, Key club, and student council. Smith is also the 2025 class secretary. Smith’s hobbies include soccer, basketball, babysitting, and traveling. Smith’s favorite class here at Woodmore is current events because it’s with Mrs Curtis. Smith was asked about a favorite memory from Woodmore. Smith said “My favorite memory is any friday night football game or beating Eastwood in soccer.”
Everyone has different ways of dealing with stress and when asked how do you deal with stress with school and extracurricular activities, Smith said, “Although being involved in so many things is super stressful at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m just super grateful to get to do all the things I do and especially this year being my last, I just remind myself to soak in every moment and enjoy it while it lasts.” Smith also said her biggest role model was her mom because “she works hard for everything we have.”
After high school, Smith plans to attend the Ohio State University with an undecided major. Congratulations Alivia Smith on all your hard work and dedication and congratulations on being the September student of the month!
